These are my people. These humans dared greatly. They dared to do the thing that lit them up - AND share it with the world. I am in good company. Here's to the Sacred YES! Universe. These are but a few world game changers I am inspired by.
1. Walt Disney
Built: A universe of imagination that reshaped childhood, animation, theme parks, and cultural storytelling. Why he didn’t stop: He believed in “the magic” and surrounded himself with people who could help make it real—even when bankrupt, rejected, and dismissed. His curiosity was bigger than his critics.
2. Beatrix Potter
Built: A whimsical world of creatures and countryside, self-published when no one took her seriously, preserved farmland with her royalties, and stewarded the land. Why she didn’t stop: She saw life in the ordinary. She couldn’t not share it. Her quiet rebellion was wrapped in cute bunnies and conservation.
3. SARK (Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy)
Built: A technicolor world of emotional permission, juicy living, and creative permission slips. Why she didn’t stop: She knew the power of a nap, a crayon, and a truth bomb. She made living art from her feelings—and helped others do the same.
4. Steve Jobs
Built: A sleek, user-first tech universe, merging function and artistry. Why he didn’t stop: He was obsessed with elegance, experience, and what’s next. He had no chill—and he didn’t care. He saw the future and pulled us into it.
5. Hayao Miyazaki
Built: Entire animated spiritual ecosystems like Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke—his worlds are poetic, political, and emotionally true. Why he didn’t stop: He was disillusioned by the world—and decided to paint a better one. Creation was his protest and his prayer.
6. Oprah Winfrey
Built: A media empire centered on truth-telling, emotional healing, and empowerment. Why she didn’t stop: She transmuted trauma into transmission. She knew her story mattered—and made it matter for millions of others.
7. Buckminster Fuller
Built: Ideas about design, sustainability, and whole-systems thinking that were decades ahead. Invented the geodesic dome. Why he didn’t stop: After nearly dying by suicide, he asked: “What is one individual’s role in making humanity work?” That question saved his life.
8. Toni Morrison
Built: Lush, layered worlds of Black life, myth, trauma, and healing. Why she didn’t stop: She said: “If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”
9. Martha Graham
Built: An entire language of movement. Transformed modern dance into a primal, expressive art form. Why she didn’t stop: She once said, “A vitality, a life force, a quickening is translated through you into action… It’s not your business to judge it.” She served the creative impulse like a sacred calling.
10. Jim Henson
Built: The Muppetverse—an emotionally intelligent world of humor, kindness, and puppetry. Why he didn’t stop: He believed laughter and heart could change people. And he made monsters tender. He made play holy.
